I had an interesting chat on Friday with my Brand expert who has supported me through the Book launch. He thinks differently to me and his suggestions and challenges are always on the money. He asked me, not unreasonably, to sum up what Finance Transformation Consulting has delivered over the last 12 years?
I knew he wanted an answer in a bitesize chunk that everyone could digest faster than Nikes 'Just Do It!' and it all came back to an Irish CFO at an American Pharma some time around 2017. We were introduced because his Quarter End number production was not going 'smoothly' and he filled me in on the details. As usual I put together a small deck afterwards to playback my understanding of the problem.
I was playing back in my own head what he had said on our calls and searching for a killer quote to round of my Executive Summary when I thought not of what he said but what he sounded like when he said it.
"I want you to get to the bottom of what has me tearing my hair out once a Quarter!" When I sent it to him he laughed ignored the other 7 slides and said "you are bang on the money now just go and do it!"
That is possibly as close as I will ever get to Nike but you get the idea. 12 years delivering change for Finance functions across the UK, Ireland and half of Western Europe. It always comes down to those 3 things, I will:
- I will Save you Time
- I will Save you Money
- I will Save your Hairline
