Has your Finance Transformation been completely derailed, pronounced a failure or has it maybe just 'Stalled'? Its an interesting question that I posed to one of my Finance Strategy attendees last Friday. The answer has a direct impact on the time, effort and cost to instigate corrective action. It also most definitely has an impact on the willingness to do so.
Due to factors such as change fatigue, resourcing and budget constraints many Organisations just say lets stop, we've been 'Transforming' for what seems like an age and we can't take any more!!! But what if that isn't quite the case, what if your not on life support, what if you are just maybe a tad rudderless, needing something, a 'spark' to drive you out of your stalled engine.
We pondered this last Friday as we agreed the Project wasn't dead, it wasn't heading to the buffers, it wasn't a career defining 'dead end' but it was feeling strangely lifeless, it had stalled but it wasn't broken. It didn't need a 'reimplementation', it didn't need a new or second Consulting team but it needed clear direction, focus and a short term objective to lift the malaise and reignite the fire of Transformation.
Does this sound like your situation? Maybe a focussed diagnostic and short term Roadmap would get you up and running again too? Then reach out and lets talk. Fixing a 'stalled' engine after all is vastly more cost effective than a complete refit.
I am an Manchester 15th and 16th June if you would like to chat in person.
In other news...What an amazing few weeks its been as Arsenal finally got over the line, Pep said Goodbye and Carrick got the gig full time. The big shock of course was Liverpool going all Chelsea and sacking Slot. The only prediction I got wrong. This is the best chance United will ever get to get back on top, Liverpool, City and Chelsea all in transition and the Arsenal will do a lap of honour before joining Leicester, Blackburn and Leeds as one hit wonders.
Next Season I forecast the end of City, the team will break up, Liverpool are in my opinion the big threat to United next Season as we chase domestic Glory. Might be too soon to knock PSG off their perch but we will get there.
Cheers,
Michael.
